Now that we have upgraded the filters on the remaining three holding tanks in the first polytunnel, we have enough space to put some small tanks in for smaller fish (ie anything up to about 10 inches). The three new tanks we are building are still under construction and whilst the framework and benching are done, the filtration and fibreglassing still need to be completed.

This is the new filtration on the first big round tank on the right as you come into the first polytunnel. We no longer have the trickle tower, large biological chamber and settlement chambers that we had before.

The tanks are all different sizes and make the best use of the space available.

The wooden construction of these small tanks is the same as we used for our spawning tanks. We used the spawning tanks as holding tanks for small fish last year to great effect and so decided that we may as well do the same thing with these new tanks.
